BBC Countryfile on affordable housing
Community Led Homes in Wiltshire
Link to Seend Community Land and Asset Trust for BBC Countryfile clip (November 2018) on affordable housing, including a project in Sutton Veny. Highly recommended.
At our inaugural meeting in September 2018 at the Nadder Centre, we were fortunate to have the expert knowledge of Ian Crawley from the National CLT Network and Trevor Cherrett from the Wiltshire Community Land Trust to answer some very interesting questions raised about the scope of CLTs and their management. See: Ian Crawley’s presentation on Lyvennet’s CLT journey.

Wiltshire Community Land Trust
Wiltshire Community Land Trust's mission is to maintain and enhance the sustainability of existing communities by supporting them to set up local community land trusts to own and manage assets, primarily affordable housing, but also other facilities and amenities that meet the needs of the people of Wiltshire, Swindon and neighbouring areas.
Wiltshire CLT is run by a board of management, with a maximum of 12 members, including co-opted members. All board members are unpaid volunteers. The Board is elected by the members of Wiltshire CLT each of whom holds one share of £1 nominal value. The Wiltshire CLT Board meets at least four times a year and is responsible for overseeing the activities of the organisation.
A major new project aimed at supporting Wiltshire communities who wish to provide for local affordable housing needs has been launched in 2018. The Wiltshire Community-Led Housing Project has been set up by a partnership between Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Community Land Trust, and Community First.
Wiltshire Community-Led Housing Project Officer Vicky Bodman will provide advice and encouragement to local communities who are keen to take a positive step towards providing local homes for local people at affordable prices.
